I, Farted?
This project was a satirical response to the unbalanced gender roles often promoted in films past (and sometimes still present).
The brief was to art direct and design a poster for a comedy movie using a female cheerleader, or create a poster in a film noir style using a male detective.
The thought of perpetuating these stereotypic gender roles reminded me of the days of 80s/90s teenage summer camp movies ie. American Pie, Road Trip, and Porky’s. I used this tension to push this concept of humiliating women further. Don’t get me wrong, I love a ridiculous comedy-of-errors/slapstick story. But I love a satirically offensive comedy even more.
In the end, I created a movie poster and a movie plot.

Perplexed and confused by the sudden event, our cheerleader goes on a journey of hi-jinks and mishaps to find out if she really snuffed that fluff.
Synopsis: ‘I, Farted?’ centres around a freshman female cheerleader at college whom while on campus experiences her first ever fart.
